Gap Creek by Robert Morgan

I started a new book this week, so far it's good and I'm hooked. Has anyone read it, Gap Creek by Robert Morgan?

Does anyone else out there in blogland have reading habits like me?
When I go to bed I don't just take one book I take at least 3. I guess I just can't make my mind up on what I want to read or maybe I just want to read it all! What I do is flip through a few gardening books, a magazine or something, read a few pages of a novel or Simple Abundance and get too tired to keep my eyes open.

And next to my bed is my end table which often gets stacked with books that over flow to a stack on the floor. I think a need to stop reading in bed and designate a reading chair so I can actually stay awake and get some reading done for a change.

Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

I started reading a new book today, that I think most everyone else has already read, Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.
So far it's great. It's simple to follow and very easy for me to relate to. Mainly because the 30 something year old main character just went through a divorce (done that), is trying to find her meaning in life (done that) and traveling to India, Italy, and Indonesia are all involved in doing so (okay, haven't done that, but I do love to travel and it sounds like a great idea to me!) I think this is going to be a great read and there is a movie beging released based on it in August. And Julia Roberts has the staring role. And even better yet, it's all based on a true story!

Reading and writing about it really makes me miss my old book club. I used to be encouraged by them to read books that I had no interest in reading, only to find out that I loved them. I really need to find a local book club!

Has anyone read a good book lately?

PaperBack Swap

If you have books around that you never plan to read again, you should try swapping them!

I signed up a few weeks ago at http://blog.paperbackswap.com/  and just received my first book today!

Here's how it works: You list books that you wish to swap and search for books that you would like to read. You pay the postage when you ship books (usps media rate is very reasonable) and when you request books they pay the postage to send it to you. Other than shipping there is no cost involved.

You get credits for sending books and use the credits to request books. It's as simple as that!

When you first start if you enter 10 books that you are willing to swap you get 2 free credits to request books. With over a million choices I'm sure you can find something. I used my 2 credits on a novel and a cookbook (the cookbook should be arriving soon). Entering the books you wish to swap is SO easy.. you just enter in the ISBN number on the back of the book and it pulls up all the information.

I'm excited to read my new book, Conversations with the Fat Girl by Liza Palmer!
