Odd Shoe Garden

I found this odd shoe garden in Alamo Square in San Francisco. I snapped some pictures real quick just so I could remember to look it up when I got home.  This park Alamo Square is across from the painted ladies (which appeared in the opening credits of "Full House").

I guess the story goes that the gardener for the park always picked up trash and a lot of time found shoes... so rather than throwing them out he started using them to plant with it. It was really a neat thought!

Trip to Napa Valley

Napa Valley in California is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! I witnessed more beauty there on a recent trip then I have seen anywhere else in the States. It is stunning and I can't wait to visit again! My pictures from my little pocket camera do not do this place justice. If you live around this area, I am soooo envious!

Motorcycle Day Trip

We took a motorcycle day trip to Weston, MO. I told you about a trip we took there in April 2010.

This time we meet up with my hubby's best friend and his wife and we all went up there.
We did about the same things as we did last time, visit the winery, shopped for antiques, ate lunch at the Irish restaurant O'Malley's. Only this time we happened upon an auction.. I was soooo bummed our saddle bags were so little! Antiques were practically being given away and I only ended up with one thing! Truth be known if I hadn't been on a motorcycle I would have bid on that stop light you see and this picture.. and what in the world would have have done with it?!

Family vacation planning time... a cruise!?

Let the planning begin! My husband and I (oh how I love typing that) decided for our family vacation this year we would take the boys on a cruise. Neither one of us has ever been on one and we thought it would be a great family adventure.
I've started researching cruises and there are sooooo many to choose from! I am overwhelmed! Isn't it hard to believe that I've always wanted to be a travel agent!
Here are my desires for this vacation...
1) I would like to go this winter... I HATE the cold!
2) I would like it to be as family friendly as possible.
3) I am thinking the Carribean would be ideal!
4) I want ports in some interesting places, mainly for the boys to experience the shore excursions .

There are still sooooooo many choices! Wish me luck! And if you've been on a cruise, advice is much appreciated!

Completed Barefoot Sandals & Wednesday Gratitude

Oh, how I am already missing relaxing in Jamaica! I couldn't be more thankful that we have the means to travel like we do. This hammock was outside our room on our veranda at the resort, I'm really wishing I had one at home! It was just perfect for the two of us.
We would wake up and have breakfast delivered to our veranda. So peaceful and everything just tastes better when you have all the time in the world to enjoy it.

I promised I would take pics of the completed barefoot sandals I made for our Jamaica trip.
So here they are. Very easy to make and fun to wear!

What a beautiful day for a day trip on the motorcycle!

With a high in the mid 70s (and no rain clouds on radar) it was a perfect day for a day trip! We left this morning and returned 7 hours later, and what a great time we had!

We rode to Weston, a small historic town in Missouri.
We ate lunch at a great Irish restaurant (O'Malley's), had some fish and chips (fries) and one of their brewed beers. Then we ventured around town.
I REALLY think this fountain would make a nice additional to our landscape... but at a price of $1,000 I passed it by. I told myself I just couldn't get it home on a motorcycle. :)
We daydreamed about having a pond in our backyard someday. This was an interesting one!
And I thought this garden work table would be pretty neat to have. I reminded myself again that we rode a motorcycle. That which seems to be helping my pocket book.

Next we went antiquing downtown. I wondered if I could maybe find something that could fit in our motorcycle saddle bag.
I thought maybe this store would be the place to find it.
I searched high and low.. but no luck finding a new addition to our home. Probably because the soon to be hubby was watching me (it's much more fun to sneak things in the house and see if he notices them!).
I will say, downtown Weston is a fun place to window shop.
They even had live Jazz music on the street to enjoy for a bit!
I am falling in love with Magnolia trees this year. I want to plant one! I plan to research them a bit more and see if I have an ideal spot for one.
Our day trip was perfect, but it was also nice to return home. (Note: I ride on the back of the motorcycle, and we always wear helmets. This was a photo after returning home when I realized we didn't have a picture on the cycle!)

Missing Paris

Today I am dreaming about and missing, Paris. It's been over a year and I am more than ready to go back!
