Autumn Welcome

One of the many things I love about pulling out my fall decor is the smell of cinnamon. I usually close my eyes and take in the scent that I haven't had a whiff of in months. It's funny how the mere smell can make me feel so warm inside. Do you have a different smell that affects you in a similar way?

Today when I experienced that warmth I said a prayer for all of the people and things I am thankful for.

Yes, I know it's not Thanksgiving yet and I will be the last to rush you into a holiday that you are not ready for yet. But shouldn't we give thanks all year long?

I have been blessed beyond comprehension! And by that I mean I do not feel deserving of everyone and everything God has given me. You might think I'm just lucky, but it really has nothing to do with luck. Our God is just so amazing, open your heart and you too will be blessed!

With school underway for the boys and the basement nearly completed (photos to follow soon), it is nice to have some time to myself. One thing I enjoy doing with my alone time is curling up with a good book and appreciating the silence. Off to read I go! Happy Autumn everyone!

Your fall decor is looking great, Amy. Yes, I love different scents, too. Every autumn I love burning Village Candle Company's orange cinnamon candle. Divine. Yankee's Pumpkin Spice is fabulous, too.

I haven't gotten out my decorations yet but I'm going to very soon. Also, I bring my amber glass collection down from the attic. It's perfect for fall.

Take care. Susan

Loving all the fall....I'm feeling a little guilty about saying goodbye to the summer so quickly, but I just LOVE everything fall....including the great colors in all your decor!

Lovely post, and yes, I am Blessed beyond measure as well. Not because of anything I have done, but because of His mercy and love for me. I can't imagine what my life would be like without my Father.

I love the smell of pumpkin spice! And I am ready for fall! Bring it on!

You are so right about being blessed. I feel the same way. Gratitude is very important and I struggle with how to teach my kids how to be grateful. Anyway, I love your fall decor. It's my favorite time of year.

Is it fall already? I'm so unprepared. Love your images, though. They're helping to get me in the mood!

It blows my mind that most people are decorating for fall...it's still full blown summer here in FL!

I'm often amazed at the power of smells. I have comfort smells that I love- the smell of spray starch while ironing, the smell of a dryer going, certain foods being cooked. I'm so ready for fall and was looking at fall candles in the store the other day so I could jump start the feel (and smell) in my house too.
