Carmel Apples

I made the cutest little caramel apple bites that I found on Christy's blog.

I used a melon baller and made little bite size caramel dipped apples just like she instructed.

All went well until..... I put them in the fridge for a while and all of the carmel mixed with the apple's juice and became a big gooey yummy mess. Note to self.. eat bite size caramel apples right away.. DO NOT TELL family that they can't have them until later. Serve as soon as they are finished!

What a great idea. I love caramel and apples, but full-size caramel apples are had for the kids to handle. I will not your 'note to self.'

They look great! Sorry about the gooey messy! The caramel is really sensitive to water, I found that out the hard way, I wonder what would happen if you dipped them in lemon before dipping in caramel, and kept them at room temp?

I saw those, too, and made a mental note to try them. Glad to know that *I* need to eat them right away!

Hi Kansas Amy! I'm from Kansas, too! (Overland Park, originally)

I had these little caramel apples last year and LOVED them. I might have to link back to this post later in the month to show how cute yours turned out.

I'm so glad you're a new follower...your travel pictures are awesome!

Hi Amy- I love green apples and with the carmel and nuts they look positively delicious. What a great treat for the kids when they come home from school. I also like the way the apples look with all the little holes. Im thinking that there has to be a way to creatively use that part of the apple too. Hmmm - I gotta think on that. Maybe hang it outside on a tree branch with peanut butter on it and birdseed.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
My best- Diane
