Dinners for the month of October

I start a new job in 7 days and I couldn't be more thankful for the opportunity. God is so good! In the meantime I am trying to get my house in order and dinners planned for the next month. Yes, you saw that right for the next month. I'm used to having dinner on the table for my family around 5:30 and starting next week I won't even be home until nearly 6. In order to have dinner ready in a snap I am going to have to plan further out as well as do some of the preparation in advance.

This is what I have on my menu list for the month of October, in no particular order:
Meatloaf
Tacos
Potato Soup
Lasagna
Spaghetti and Meatballs
Sloppy Joes
Chicken Pot Pie
Pizza
Bierocks
Green Bean Chili
Salisbury Steak
Hamburger Chili
Chicken Cheese Enchiladas
Cajun Shrimp and Rice
Taquitos
Chicken Tortilla Soup
Chicken and Rice Casserole
Spaghetti Pie
Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
Rotisserie Chicken
Chicken Nachos
Tostadas
Chicken Wings
Fried Chicken
Ribs
Steak
Chicken Salad on Croissant
Corn Dogs
Upside down day- Breakfast for dinner (biscuits/gravy and bacon)
Hamburgers
Turkey Club Sandwiches

Now it's time to put them in order and plan the shopping list(s). Wish me luck!

Great menu! Good luck with your new job. You have probably thought of this already, but many of your items call for the same ingredients and could save you some time by preparing them one time and then freezing them for when you need it. Like cooking a massive amount of seasoned ground beef and putting them in ziplock bags, or chopping vegatables and freezing them for example. It makes making dinner at the end of a long workday so much simpler!

It looks like you could use your slow cooker for a lot of these dishes. It's a really time-efficient way to have dinner ready as soon as your home. Also, it looks like your children are old enough to take on dinner maybe once a week? Or at least help with cleaning/chopping/other prep work. Good practice for when they venture out into the world.

An entire month?? I'm hard pressed to plan a meal for 1 week. I agree with the above comment.....the crockpot is my friend! Use it! :)

Congratulations, Amy!!!! Enjoy this exciting new time. I get home around 6 and it meal time can be crazy. But with your planning, it seems like you'll find your way and make it doable. I'm writing down some of your ideas -- I forget about fun stuff and get stuck in a rut.
