Score! my $5 resale find

I have been on the lookout for some of these! Actually just one.. but I was delighted to find a pair. And $5 for both of them?! A steal!

They need a bit of cleaning, but I can hardly wait to use them in my decor! I really like when I find something I am hunting for!

There are garage sales everywhere right now! My house rule is something has to leave for everything that comes in. I have a box of items in my car waiting to be donated. I take this rule seriously. It's actually easier than you think to abide by this rule, there is always a shirt or SOMETHING that is no longer being used. How do you keep yourself from collecting too much stuff?

Ha! Amy, I had to chuckle at your question. My answer is that I DON'T keep myself from collecting too much stuff. Even in my current post, I note that the pantry is in desperate need of de-cluttering.

Actually, I'd love to have a little what-not shop...not open all the time as that's be too time consuming. Maybe two days a week. ha! Nice to dream.

Great job on your newly found treasures. Susan

That IS a score!! I LOVE apothocary jars, they are great for filling with seasonal fun stuff, and you could NOT ask for a better price!

I love your apothecary jars! I can't wait to get mine filled with some sort of fall stuff!! You got a FANTASTIC price on them. I am trying to donate when I bring items in. It's tough and doesn't always work but sigh...I try!

Great find. You are going to love your jars. I move mine all over the house.
I like your rule. I'm just not sure I'm disciplined enough to do it.
Have a good week, Annette

Amy,
That is a very good rule and one that I need to follow. I think I will start that box as soon as I get home! I bring in so much....then it is hard to clean.
Enjoyed hearing from you!!!
Hugs,
Suz

That is a great rule...I may borrow it. :) After installing new floors and painting ( and not moving to a larger home ) it was major donate time. I'm ashamed to say but it was 5 truck loads...way too much for our little house. Your blog is adorable!

So glad you came by! Thank you ")

My treasure hunting had gotten out of hand. So now I've adopted your rule -- something has to go before I bring another thing in. And at least 2x a year, I do a major purge; each year it gets easier for me to let more and more go.

Thanks for visiting me. I'll be back!!

I don't "collect" anything. That helps!
I also shop VERY little, mostly only for groceries.
Now... for my blog and projects I do bring a lot of stuff in.

Love those, nice find. I have the same rule. My husband brought home a new jacket the other day and I said, "an old jacket has to go". Somehow we still have so much stuff!!!

Oh yes....those are just delightful. Makes me want to go look in the local paper for garage sales going on this weekend. One persons junk is another persons treasure. :) I purge once every 3 months....keeps me from keeping junk from piling up.
